The Speckled Band (TSB) was written in1892. Roald Dahl wrote the story LTS. This story does non follow theconventions of a murder mystery story. Arthur Conan Doyle wrote TSB.This is a murder mystery story. It follows the basic conventions ofmurder mysteries. I will try to sharpen the differences between the twostories, and show how the stories have different genres.music genre is a type. Geenre is a french devise which means Type. Many thingshave genres. Things we use to entertain ourselfs with, or relegate timewith, have a genre. For example, look ats, mu sic, books, games and manyother things have genres. Genre is important because it lets peopleknow what they are doing. If someone is watching a film they would wntto know what genre it is. It could be a horror,thriller, comedy oranything else. So this helps them to know what type of film they arewatching, but it would not give away any part of the film. Genre isuseful for writers, film makers or artists.
